LINKS is an intergenerational story-preservation program of the Chabad Hebrew Community Centre — a registered charity at 7770 Bathurst Street, Thornhill (Toronto), Ontario. We pair trained teen volunteers with seniors in the Jewish community to record, preserve, and publish their life stories in their own voices.
Seniors are matched with teen volunteers for weekly visits. Using a voice-first storytelling platform, every visit is recorded and transcribed, and each senior's story is edited into a keepsake book with QR-linked voice recordings for their family. The year culminates in a community anthology — Volume One — and a launch celebration for seniors, families, and volunteers.
The year-one pilot is fully sponsor-funded. Sponsor a senior's story for $1,000, or become a partnering or founding sponsor at $10,000 or more. Sponsors and founding partners are recognized in the book title, chapter dedications, and all program media.
